spring I can say is "finally here" in the pacific northwest. I cannot say the same for the Minnesota area, at least when I was there a week or so ago.
I planned on packing "light". You know. 50lbs in a piece of luggage doesn't go far when you love metal. So I thought. Pack light. Ship some great stuff home in your luggage.
I would of paid dearly for a pair of mittens.
I did wear my sweet friend Pam's "spare winter jacket" pretty much for 5 days.
thank goodness I didn't pack my favorite work boots. flip flops.
spring junking to me means ....well.
spring.
not 9" plus snow in mid April. I can drive great in the snow, so the offer for a "4 wheel drive" from the rental car place was kinda silly.
so is driving a "compact car" not much bigger than a smart car.
(they do great barodies in the parking lot though :)
But spring junking is still
Spring Junking.
And Minnesota and it's surrounding farmy country "brings it".
chippy, rusty, metal, farm cupolas .
and cubbies, cupboards that make my heart go crazy.
I have plenty of cubbies, drawers, metal at home.
But I "just had to have this one". (and thankfully can store it at a super cool store until we drive back to Junk Bonanza in the Fall. )
snow free.
Hanging with my Minnesota family is the best.
Ki and Jane rock a killer show.
Sara is a bad ass driver to "get it done".
And seeing my cross country friend Kim is "always" the BEST.
The weather didn't stop shoppers, crazy cool junk and super amazing fun for "spring junking" whatsoever.
record crowds for some amazing goods.
perfect perfect fun.
